The day after seeing Lance Buron, we went to a ticket center called tix4tonight, where discounted tickets are sold to those shows that had remaining seats for the day. If you are in Vegas, and don’t have your heart set on a particular show , it is definitely the way to go. We saw another magic act, that did many of the same tricks Burton did the night before, with slightly less pazzazz and a little less of the ‘wow’ factor.
Later that night we also saw the Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur hotel. The medieval style show, while being slightly cheesy, was entertaining nonetheless. The room was in an oval shape, circling an area of empty space filled with sand. Dinner was served without a knife and fork. And this wasn’t a simple sandwich, but a full chicken that required dismantling the bird by tugging on it with a fair amount of force and then devouring it with nothing but your hands. If you are trying to impress your lady by how gentlemanly you are, this is not the show for you.
The showed featured a tournament between princes of different regions of the world. Hungary, Russia, Ireland, etc., were all represented. The audience was split into different sections as well, with each section supporting a different prince. The Finnish section of the audience was so dedicated to their prince, I wondered if they had all come here from Finland specifically for this tournament.
My prince, however, was not from any country in the world, but was rather the prince of darkness himself - Dragon. Somehow…I ended up rooting for evil.
